Why we do what we do

Davin's "Why?"

Growing up, my family had a black lab named Lilo. At a very young age, I began to notice human-like qualities and an unconditional amount of love coming from her, which then taught me how much more than a pet, a dog, could be.

As I grew older, I began rescuing, fostering, and training dogs, many of which were deemed dangerously aggressive or days away from being euthanized. Those dogs were a ‘trial-by-fire’ approach to learning how to train dogs. Even with that being the more challenging option, it is a path I honestly wouldn’t trade due to how gratifying it is to give a dog a second chance at a happy life. It has proven to be one of the most rewarding challenges in my life thus far. My goal now is to provide ways to improve both the owners’ and their dogs’ lives while strengthening their unbreakable bond and allowing the dog to reach its full potential.

As far as my favorite part of training, my passion lies in protection sports. I love decoying, for it allows me to grow the skills and confidence of the dogs and their handlers. This challenge has me constantly evolving as a handler myself, and thinking of new and fun ways to train keeps my life exciting!

“Dog training takes patience, love, and a willingness to learn.”
