Manners and obedience

Love your dog. Lose the pulling and jumping.

Dragged down the street, guests jumped at the door, a dog who listens when they feel like it. Your dog moves in with our crew for 4, 6 or 11 weeks and practices everyday manners until they hold up in real life. Then we teach you everything, so it sticks at home.

Sound familiar?

Every day shouldn't be a wrestling match

The walk

You brace yourself before every walk. Pulling, zig-zagging, lunging at squirrels and skateboards. Some days you just skip it.

The door

The doorbell rings and it's chaos: jumping, barking, a bolt for the open door. Having people over takes a strategy.

The listening

They know Sit. At home. With a treat in your hand. Anywhere else, it's more of a suggestion.

How we'd help

Manners that hold up off the couch

Your dog practices every day, first in our yard, then around more and more distractions, until good manners are just how they act.

We teach polite greetings, waiting at doors and relaxing on Place, and practice them until they hold up when the doorbell rings. At pickup, we hand you the leash and coach you until it feels easy.

What they'll work on

  • Walk politely on leash
  • Sit, Down and Stay on the first cue
  • Wait at doors
  • Relax on "Place"
  • Greeting manners, no more launch-pad jumps

Great at home but a mess in public? The 6- and 11-week stays add field trips to parks and Home Depot, so the manners hold up around real-world distractions.

Will they listen to me, too?

We train your dog. Then we train you.

01

Pickup day is a lesson

A full hour where you run your dog through everything they learned while we coach you. You leave knowing exactly what to ask for and how.

02

Follow-ups that never expire

2, 3 or 5 follow-up sessions here at our place, depending on your stay. Use them the week after pickup or months later, whenever you want a tune-up.

03

5 to 10 minutes a day

That's all we ask when your dog first comes home. We do the heavy lifting during the stay and show you exactly what to practice. A few minutes a day keeps it going.

How we train

Same goofball. Better manners.

Plenty of trainers won't tell you how they train. Here's exactly how we do it: every plan is built around your dog's quirks, your schedule and your goals.

Rewards come first

Every dog starts with reward-based training: food, toys, praise and play. It's how we teach every new skill.

You decide the rest

Some dogs need more than rewards. If yours does, and only with your OK, we use the gentlest option that works, which can include leash corrections or an e-collar. You get a full walkthrough first, on the phone or when you arrive. Want reward-only training? Then that's what your dog gets.

What we never do

  • Hit or kick
  • Yell or intimidate
  • Pin a dog down ("alpha rolls")
  • Hang a dog by the leash

Their words, not ours

From chaos to calm

Now she goes to her bed when the doorbell rings almost every time.

"She used to drag me down the street and lose her mind at other dogs. Now I can walk her with the leash in two fingers most of the time.… We practiced a few times a week for about a month and a half and used one of the follow-up lessons on it. Now she goes to her bed when the doorbell rings almost every time. My sister is still a work in progress"

He no longer runs out of the door or jumps on people.

"My little frenchie did the 11 week training and he came back a whole new dog. He no longer runs out of the door or jumps on people.… Frenchies are stubborn as hell, and he came back fully listening without worry."

Seeing him home behaving so well honestly brought tears to my eyes.

"I sent my dog here for the 4 week board and train. It was everything i wanted! Seeing him home behaving so well honestly brought tears to my eyes."

Will my dog listen to me when they come home?

That's what pickup day is for. You'll spend an hour running your dog through everything while we coach you. After that, 5 to 10 minutes of practice a day keeps it going, and your follow-ups never expire, so they're there whenever you want a tune-up.

Is my dog too old for this?

No. Grown dogs learn manners every day here, and seniors are welcome too.

How much does it cost?

$3,950 for 4 weeks, $5,900 for 6 weeks or $10,650 for 11 weeks. Every stay includes their own room, training every day at your dog's pace, weekly update videos, a 1-hour handoff lesson at pickup, and follow-up sessions that never expire. Payment plans are available on every program, subject to approval.

Why board and train instead of lessons?

Lessons can work, especially if you have time to practice every day. With board and train, your dog lives here and works with our crew every day for weeks, so more of the work is ours, and then we teach you how to keep it going. On the call, we'll tell you honestly which fits your dog.

Your next step

Tell us about your dog

The consultation is free and there's no pressure. You'll talk with a real person from our crew, and we'll:

  • Hear what's going on, in as much detail as you've got
  • Tell you which program fits your dog, or if something else would work better
  • Walk you through exactly how we'd train your dog
  • Give you the price and answer every "what if"

No waitlist for board and train.

Baby on the way? Moving? Big trip coming up? Tell us your date and we'll plan around it.
