So how does board and train work?
A free call about your dog. We'll tell you which program fits (or if something else would work better), how we'd train your dog, the price, and when you can start.
Their own room, trainers who live on the property, and a vet next door. Training every day at your dog's pace, with update videos every week.
Pickup day is a 1-hour lesson. Then follow-up sessions that never expire, and 5 to 10 minutes of practice a day at home. That's all we ask.

Every dog starts with rewards: food, toys, praise and play. If yours needs more, we use the gentlest option that works, which can include leash corrections or an e-collar, only with your OK and only if it suits your dog. Want reward-only? Just ask. Four of our trainers live on the property, about 15 feet from the dogs' rooms, and Kritter Kamp, an emergency and general vet, is right next door. Dogs never play off-leash together, and dogs with aggression live in their own separate area. And animal control inspects us at random, to make sure everything's up to standard.

How it started
Declan was a Malinois who'd been adopted once and sent back, and he had less than a day before he'd be put down. Davin drove out to get him. His friend since grade school, Angelee, jumped into Declan's training too. Watching a fearful dog turn confident and ready for anything hooked them both.
Declan was the first of many foster dogs. Then Davin started posting training videos, and friends and strangers alike started asking: "Can you please help me with my dog?" That's still the job.

$3,950 for 4 weeks, $5,900 for 6 weeks, or $10,650 for 11 weeks. Every stay includes their own room, daily training, weekly update videos, a 1-hour handoff lesson at pickup, and follow-up sessions that never expire. Payment plans are available on every program, subject to approval.
Sometimes, and only when two things are true: you've said yes after a full walkthrough, and your dog is a good fit. We won't put one on a scared or anxious dog, a young puppy, or a dog that hasn't learned what we're asking yet, even if you ask us to. And if you'd rather we didn't use one, we won't.
That's what pickup day is for. You'll spend an hour running your dog through everything while we coach you. After that, 5 to 10 minutes of practice a day keeps it going, and your follow-ups never expire, so they're there whenever you want a tune-up.

Lots of our board and train dogs start out reactive. Jaidyn's story above is one of them. They still practice around other dogs, mostly our own, in small steps: far enough away that they stay calm, and closer only as they're ready, so they never get to the barking-and-lunging point. Our home base is in the San Diego County hills. Most of our families drive in from Orange County and LA. Board and train takes two trips, drop-off and pickup, and your follow-ups fit in whenever you're down this way. We'll go over everything on your free call.
